Beauty Product Empties January 2021

Hello! This month I thought I’d do my product empties, I’ve seen other people do this and think its a great idea. As I’m doing no spend January and I have an obsession with buying beauty products, especially moisturisers. I saw a challenge where you use up ten of your products before you buy more so may take part in that too. I’ve got quite a big collection of beauty products so don’t really need to buy anything for a while. I do still receive my monthly Glossybox, I have to have one treat a month and that’s mine.

Here are the products I’ve emptied this month and my reviews of them:

Umberto Giannini Grow Long Shampoo

I loved this shampoo, its made my hair feel much thicker and in better condition, I love how my hair is at the moment. This product claims to help you grow your hair longer, stronger faster and it did. I still have the scalp scrub, hair mask and conditioner so will use those up before I buy any more of this product. The smell was amazing and its vegan too! See my previous post for a full review.

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil (not on image)

This has been my absolute facial oil so far, the smell is lovely and it made my skin feel so soft. I used it all before I had chance to take a picture, the gift box it came in is shown in the image below. I will definitely buy this again. I got this oil as part of a set with the hydration juice and facial wash. The facial wash is still going strong and lasting ages. Though I wouldn’t buy the facial wash or hydration juice again as they didn’t really make my skin feel any better. The dropper is so handy to ensure you get the right amount. It is formulated with a blend of 9 Superfood Oils including Broccoli, Rosehip, Flaxseed and Daikon Radish to feed the skin. this nourishing facial oil is light, non-greasy and easily absorbed, it minimises the look of dullness and enhance’s skin radiance for a glowing complexion.

Elemis Superfood Hydration Juice

As above, I did like this product but wouldn’t buy it again. It smelt nice but felt slightly sticky on my face until it dried. I prefer other serums like feel just like water on your face and don’t feel sticky. The pump didn’t work very well towards the end and the nozzle seemed to be clogged up with dried gel. Loaded with vitamin-packed Superfoods, 75% Organic Aloe and a Prebiotic, this gel moisturiser delivers instant cooling hydration while helping to soothe and protect dehydrated or sensitive skin. Its vegan-friendly and silicone-free.

Lacura Hand & Nail Cream

This hand cream didn’t really smell of anything but felt sticky on my hands until it melted in. It didn’t stop my hands from drying up and I wouldn’t buy it again as I prefer other brands. This was a last minute pickup in my local supermarket for my desk at home. I have used it all and it lasted quite a long time. Its good as a quick solution to apply to dry irritated hands but its effects don’t last. Vegans and vegetarian friendly. Enriched with Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil.

Sure Deodrant

This is a long term favourite deodorant of mine, though I had been using Lush’s dry deodorant (see post for review) for a long time before I started using Sure again. It provides 48 hour protection against sweat, odour and marks on your clothes. Sure is dermatologically tested and alcohol free.

Wander Beauty Eye Masks

These were in my Glossybox beauty subscription box, I got one set though they are currently around £25 for six sets I wouldn’t get them again. They made my eyes feel refreshed, they looked brighter. These would be good for travelling long distances the price does put me off as you can get just as good for less. The gold foil retains heat and prevents evaporation to allow the serum to soak in. Hyaluronic acid delivers intense hydration to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Aloe leaf extract and lavender oil offer a cooling effect while soothing and calming the under-eye area. Hopefully somewhere will have these on offer and I will purchase them again.

Illamasqua Hydra Veil Rehydrating Gel

This gel was lovely and great when used as a primer before applying makeup. The gel warms in your hand and feels light when massaged into your face. Enriched with Microalgae and Vitamins C and B3, its clear gel formula infuses optimum hydration, whilst Plant Extracts calm and comfort skin to leave it fresh, rebalanced, healthy-looking. Priced at about £10 for 7ml I will definitely buy this again, it helped me to apply my makeup easier and my face felt smoother. I love the cut little pot and don’t want to throw it away for recycling!

  1. I e recently gone back to mainstream deodorants too. I was using an all natural one- but found it didn’t work as well as I had hoped. And I completely agree with you one quick lotion decisions. They’re so hit or miss!!
