10 Makeup Essentials Less Than A Fiver each.

Who loves a bargain? Last month I decided that I needed some new makeup, I’d made do for ages and couldn’t remember the last time I bought any. Which is really bad as you are supposed to renew every so often. I usually buy Benefit products as they are just perfect for my skin and I love them so much.

I’m on a money saving mission (there will be a post on this) and this time I needed to buy cheaper brands, I wondered if I could get something just as nice for a fraction of the price.

I looked online and found some really good bargains, see if there are any you would like to try:

1. Wet N Wild Ultimate Eyebrow Kit– £2.49

The medium toned powder, available in Ash Brown shade, is perfect for filling in the main body of the brow, while a brow wax helps to keep your hairs in place all day long. I use the darkest shade to create fine, hair strokes. The powders can also double up as eye shadows, perfect for carrying in your handbag. I love the mini brush and the cutest smallest set of tweezers I’ve seen. What a great bargain find!

You could save £27.00 buying this product instead of BENEFIT brow zings eyebrow shaping kit.

2. Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer– £4.99

Available in Palm Beach Ready, Sunset Striptease and What Shady Beaches Shades. This bronzer glides across my skin, it makes blending and building colour easy. I apply the powder bronzer to my cheekbones for a sun kissed glow. I got this bronzer in palm beach ready shade and it makes me look like I’ve been on holiday.

You could save £23.99 buying this product instead of BENEFIT Hoola Bronzing Powder

3. Maybelline Dream Lightening Concealer– £3.99

Available in Fair, Light, Medium and Medium Deep Shades. This concealer is fantastic for my under eye darkness, puffiness and redness. It gives my skin more of a smooth, even tone. I got the light shade, as its an illuminator concealer it brightens the face, looks great and makes me look radiant.

You could save £15.51 buying this product instead of BENEFIT Boi ing Concealer

4 & 5. Cien Volume Mascara in Black & Cien Eyeliner Pen in Brown- £2.99

I got this set from Lidl, an absolute bargain. I’m a big mascara fan and I’ve tried all sorts but I will be buying this one again. It gives my lashes so much volume. The eyeliner is my favourite, I wouldn’t have usually got it in brown but it was with the set, it looks so good with my favourite eyeshadow. Look out for it next time you go shopping, you’ll be pleased you did!

You could save £38.51 buying this product instead of BENEFIT They’re Real Mascara and Benefit Roller Eyeliner.

6. Maxfactor X Excess Shimmer– £4.84

This cream eye shadow, in Crystal shade, is easy to apply and makes my eyes shimmer. This colour goes with anything and is perfect for day or night wear. I love it!

You could save £3.15 buying this product instead of BENEFIT Cream Eyeshadow.

7. Barry M Glitter Dust– £4.59

Sometimes you just want that bit of extra glitter, I apply this over my cream eyeshadow for a dramatic effect on nights out. I would recommend applying with a little makeup brush as it gets everywhere. If you have a fancy dress party planned it would also look fab on lips and cheeks.

No comparison here 😀

8. PS…Smoke Out, Primark- £3.00

If you love smokey eyes then you need this eyeshadow pallet. Primark has some lovely makeup items that don’t break the bank. You need to apply a bit extra to get the effect you want, but when you do it looks fab.

You could save £19.95 buying this product instead of BENEFIT Easy Smokin Eyes.

9. PS… Lustre Lipstick, Primark – £0.90

Every girl needs one of these in their handbag, for 90p you cant go wrong. Mines in the Latte shade, coffee colour lipsticks are my favourite. It goes on nicely and lasts ages.

You could save £14.60 buying this product instead of BENEFIT Tinted Lip Stain.

10. Technic Bronzing Eyeshadow– £4.05

I just love this, a subtle shimmer for every day use. Easy to apply and looks great when used with the bronzer above. I love the shades, you can mix them for a brilliant effect.

You could save £15.95 buying this product instead of BENEFIT They’re Real Eyeshadow

Spent- £31.84

Saved- £158.66

I love my little range that I found and the products are brilliant, I recommend swapping your usual brands for cheaper ones. Its amazing just how much money you could save to spend on that perfect wedding, stunning house or that amazing holiday. Benefit are still in my heart and when this money saving period passes, I will reunite with them once again.

Happy saving and thanks for reading.

Have a good day!

  2. I love a good dupe! It’s amazing how much money you’ve been able to save. I’m at a point now where I’d rather invest in skincare and make my skin as good as I can. Then I don’t feel the need to spend loads on makeup products to cover it all up. I’ll have to check out a few of these when I come to restock. I’m always up for saving money! Thanks for sharing all these x

  5. I loved reading this, and this is exactly the type of thing I should’ve been reading when I first got into makeup, I would’ve saved myself so much money because I find quite often the highstreet brands can be just as good! x
