Grab ten minutes and a cuppa, have a read of this and then decide if its something you want to try.
What is CBD oil?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a plant extract and one of the compounds found in the cannabis sativa plant. The oil is extracted from the hemp plant, generally from the flowers and leaves, which are ground down. The CBD oil is then filtered out for human use. CBD oil is used primarily as a food supplement due to its high levels of vitamins E and B. It’s also rich in antioxidants and is a popular staple in health food products.
What can it do for me?
There is a belief that CBD oil has various health benefits but studies are still needed to prove the benefits.
People have reported that it helps with epilepsy (managing seizures), pain, depression and anxiety, skin conditions (psoriasis, eczema), addiction management (reducing activation of the amygdala, a brain area involved in addiction), neurodegenerative diseases (parkinsons, alzheimers, MS, ALS) and relief from chemotherapy treatment side effects (nausea & vomiting).
In a 2013 study, scientists found that CBD can block the addictive effects of painkillers such as morphine. Specifically, CBD reduced the pleasure of morphine, making it seem like less of a reward.
A number of studies recognised by the National Cancer Institute have suggested that cannabidiol could reduce the spread of some types of cancer cells, including breast and lung cancers. Scientists think CBD might naturally inhibit ID-1, thereby preventing cancer cells from travelling to other tissues.
A higher dose can help insomniacs where a lower dose can increase alertness.
Is it legal and will I get high??
CBD products are legal, as long as they contain less than 0.2% THC and are sold as a health/food supplement. High quality products will have little to no THC which means you wont get high. Cali Greens & Love Hemp products contain no THC and are tested by a third party under strict laboratory conditions.

CBD is a cannabinoid. These work by interacting with our bodies’ own natural endocannabinoid system. We all have one, whether we use cannabinoids or not. It’s a natural, vital part of our bodies. Cannabinoids in CBD can help you maintain a natural balance and support your everyday wellness by helping us regulate important functions, such as appetite, digestion, immune function, inflammation, mood, sleep, temperature and memory. CBD is also thought to interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors (brain and immune system), mostly found in the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, respectively. CBD may also engage either directly or indirectly with vanilloid receptors, adenosine receptors, and serotonin receptors, which could mean even greater effects on things like pain management, sleep-wake cycles, and mood/stress management.
Can you overdose on it?
CBD is safe to use in high doses but it is possible to take too much, side effects of taking too much are feeling lethargic or drowsy. When you first get used to which product and dosage to use, you may experience slight headaches or stomach ache, this just means you need to lower the dosage to one that suits you.
What dosage should I take?
Some people have higher tolerance levels than others so start off on a low dosage. As a food supplement, the maximum adult daily dose is 200mg. To begin with take 10mg twice per day. After a week, depending on how you feel, you could double the dose to 20mg twice per day. Gradually increase up to the maximum daily dose of 200mg to a level where you are happy. The oils are available in various strengths and sizes, they range from 10ml to 100ml in size and 300mg (3%) to 4000mg (40%) in content so bear this in mind when you choose a size and percentage. Hold the drops under the tongue for a couple of minutes to absorb.

Where can I get it from?
I got the Cali Greens from The CBD Selection, they are a Lancashire based company and supply a wide variety of CBD Oils, CBD E-Liquids CBD Vapes, CBD Skin Creams and Softgels from CBD Brands in the UK and Europe. The orange & mango flavour is one of the nicest tasting oils I’ve used. Look out for their special offers.
I got Love Hemp directly from Love Hemp, they are a London based company. Their website, love-hemp.com states ” Tony Calamita and Thomas Rowland established the disruptor brand after spotting a gap in the market for a high quality and innovative CBD brand”. I recommend the peppermint flavour. Look out for their special offers.
Both companies have high quality customer service, answering all questions you may have and include fast delivery by courier.
What is your experience of it?
At first I was unsure about it, i’d read and heard good things about it. One of my friends picked me a bottle up so I gave that a go and it helped me. A while later, my anxiety levels were higher than usual and I couldn’t focus on what I was doing. I decided to buy a higher strength, there was a really good promotion on the Love Hemp website via Blue Light Card so I ordered some, peppermint flavour. Peppermint is known to be soothing so it made sense to try it. The CBD selection gave me a brilliant discount to try the Cali Greens CBD oil and review on my blog and social media.
Previously I’ve suffered with IBS, shaky hands, anxiety that felt like I was carrying the world, psoriasis of the skin and other problems that stemmed from those including a low sex drive, general pains and fatigue.
Since using the oil twice a day the psoriasis and IBS have disappeared, my hands are much less shaky (I’ve been able to do highly detailed oil paintings on canvas). I’m more relaxed and happier, pain free, less tired, more focused and the sex drive has returned. My hair and nails are much healthier, it gives you a sense of calm, like the first glass of wine does.
This alternative therapy beats taking antidepressants or tablets with horrible side effects. I highly recommend them.
